The dream shifted…
I was on a large coach bus in Andalusia, Spain with several of my friends.
We were arguing with three men who clearly could beat us in any fight. I believed that the three people I was with, we could beat the men. The rest of the group was begging me not to get into this with several 6ft. plus men who all weighed well over 200 pounds. I kept urging my group on, we could take them. Then a very strong, thin, attractive man stood up as the fourth member in their group and said in magnificent spanish that we would have a group, tango duel.
All eight of us would go to the old tango arena and we would duel.
My team turned to me, none of us could compete with these men in a dance we clearly did not know. Then I stood up and announced,
“State the rules, and we’ll beat you in your own game.”
The men led the way off the bus and we walked through the beautiful city as it was nearing dark. There was a small red door, down a side street. We went in and down a steep set of stone stairs. Then we came to an arena that reminded me of a retro skating rink. It was much smaller however and the floor was made for the dance. There was plexi glass around the walls that cut off at my eye level. The walls behind it were brick.
The teams pulled on their dance shoes and the men appeared very proud and able. My team far more frightened.
The beautiful guitar began and the tempo was set. We all moved onto the floor and began lightly stepping.
Quickly I began to make my foot steps heavy and confident. I clapped in perfect tempo and each stomp couldn’t miss a beat.
(If you were thrown off tempo it was too difficult to regain and you would quickly become tired and lose.)
I was paired with a very large, dark skinned man who was wearing cow boy boots and seemed to believe himself quite the accomplished dancer. I took control immediately. I moved him about the dance floor. My gestures were large and graceful and soon as he found himself moving backwards he lost the beat. At this I moved to help one of my friends. Seeing my success my group began to take heart and enjoy the dance.
The spectacularly intense beat could not run from ears, feet, hands and hips. We all moved the men right off the dance floor.
Victory is twice as sweet when you beat someone at their game.
Space is growing.
Space is expanding.
Space is moving and growing faster than anyone could ever imagine.
our space is beautiful.
Space is more and greater
Space is an expanse
Space is the space between and the thing between space.
Space separates the forms OF space from the forms IN space.
